ADL Condemns Alleged Use of Noose to Taunt African-American Frontier Airlines Employee

Denver, CO, April 29, 2008 ... The Mountain States Region of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today expressed concern over allegations that an African-American Frontier Airlines employee was subjected to racial harassment and taunted with a noose by a fellow employee.

"Nooses symbolize a shameful, hateful, criminal era in American history, and should never be tolerated or treated casually," said Bruce H. DeBoskey, ADL Regional Director. "We applaud the actions of the Denver Police Department for investigating this incident as a bias-motivated crime. Crimes involving racial harassment and the use of a noose as a threatening symbol must be taken seriously and a clear message must be sent that such behavior is unacceptable in our community."

The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.
