The internecine fighting between Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip has unleashed a barrage of virulently anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic cartoons in the Arab and Muslim media. Anti-Semitism has been a consistent feature in the Arab and Muslim media for decades, with the conflict between Fatah and Hamas providing the latest opportunity to blame the Jews and Israel. The following cartoons portray Israel and the Jews (many of them depicted with age-old stereotypical characteristics) as encouraging and mocking the strife between Hamas and Fatah, and portraying Israel as the beneficiary of their internal strife.
