On its 75th birthday, ADL looks back with pride on its decades-long support for the state of Israel. We remain committed to working towards a secure, Jewish and democratic state living at peace with its neighbors, and to promoting an Israeli society that is cohesive and inclusive. We honor and affirm the values laid out in the Israel’s founding Declaration of Independence, of Jewish nationhood, democracy, freedom, justice, equality and the pursuit of peace. We remember that Israel is still a relatively young country and recognize that it struggles daily with deep and difficult external and internal challenges.
ADL is inspired by Israel and its many accomplishments, including:
- Making the Zionist dream of Jewish statehood and self-determination a reality, rooted from its founding in a commitment to Jewish identity, humanistic values, democratic principles and institutions.
- Creating a vibrant society comprised of people from diverse national and ethnic origins, faiths and beliefs.
- Achieving a standard of innovation in technology, science, medicine, agriculture and ecology that is admired around the world.
