Hear from ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt in conversation on the podcast Call Me Back with Dan Senor. They talk about the stories of the American victims, why ADL filed the lawsuit and how ADL responded in the aftermath of the 10/7 attack.
In this groundbreaking case, ADL and the law firm, Crowell & Moring LLP, brought this lawsuit forward to pursue justice on behalf of over 125 victims of the horrific attack on 10/7 and create a record of Hamas’ heinous brutality and of the material support that they received from these state sponsors of terrorism. Filed on July 1, 2024, the complaint states that the plaintiffs should receive compensation for their permanent damage, which would come from the U.S. Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund, a fund Congress created in 2015 to allow American victims of terrorism such as those in this case to obtain some meaningful relief for their suffering.
In a world in which 10/7 denialism took hold almost immediately after the attack, this case will set the record straight about the horrors of what occurred on that day.
In the aftermath of 10/7, ADL continues to speak out against the surge of antisemitism in the U.S. and around the world. We stand in solidarity with Israel. For over 100 years, we have advocated against antisemitism through litigation and legislation, published data-driven research to raise awareness of the severity of hate, led education programs in schools, for workplaces and with law enforcement and shared facts with media and elected officials. We bring our legacy of knowledge and legal expertise to today’s battle. Take action with ADL in this fight.
