On January 15, 2022, a gunman entered Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville during services, taking three congregants and Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker as hostages. Ten hours into the standoff with local, state and federal authorities, the hostages and Rabbi Charlie escaped, unharmed.
