Established over 20 years ago, The Glass Leadership Institute (GLI) is the cornerstone leadership development program at ADL. GLI empowers young adults to fight hatred and bigotry in their own communities, and provides unique opportunities to explore ADL’s core mission, “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment for all.”
GLI offers participants an insider’s perspective of ADL’s programs, and a deep understanding of the cutting edge strategies employed to confront hate and bias. Participants engage in dynamic, interactive sessions on a broad range of topics, exposing them to the important work of fighting hate for good, and the full range of issues on the organization’s agenda.
The GLI program is active in 24 cities across the United States. Each local cohort brings together young adults interested in learning about effective advocacy and leadership in pursuit of ADL’s mission. Participants in each region are provided with opportunities for team-building and socializing with their classmates and for engaging with ADL’s local and national leadership.
The Institute culminates with the National Leadership Summit in Washington D.C., where participants from across the country come together to engage with each other, as well as high-ranking officials, opinion leaders, and renowned experts. Attendees spend a portion of their time in DC advocating with legislators on Capitol Hill. *
