Racist Skinhead Sentenced in Oregon for Parole Violation

August 02, 2006

A racist skinhead, who was convicted of beating to death an Ethiopian immigrant nearly two decades ago, has been sentenced in Oregon for violating his parole.

Kyle Brewster, 37, was sentenced on July 20, 2006, to serve the remainder of his sentence in the Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution in Pendleton for violating his parole by associating with members of the white supremacist group Volksfront.

Volksfront, a racist skinhead-oriented neo-Nazi group headquartered in Oregon and based primarily in the Pacific Northwest, has been associated with numerous violent crimes, including the brutal beating death of a homeless man in Tacoma, Washington, in 2003.

Information provided by the Anti-Defamation League put parole officers on the trail of individuals ultimately linked to Brewster.

Brewster and two other racist skinheads were convicted in connection with the murder of Ethiopian immigrant Mulugeta Seraw in Portland, Oregon, on November 13, 1988.  Brewster pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and assault and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He was released in November 2002, and was scheduled to complete his parole in 2008.
