ADL Statement on Charges Filed Against Police Officer in Killing of Daunte Wright

New York, NY, April 14, 2021 ... ADL (the Anti-Defamation League) issued the following statement today in response to the charging of former Brooklyn Center, MN police officer Kim Potter with second-degree manslaughter in the killing of Daunte Wright:

The charges now filed ​against former police officer Kim Potter ​do not change the fact that Daunte Wright ​-- and too many other Black individuals -- should ​be alive today. This issue is much bigger than one ​stop, one department, or one city. Black Lives Matter. Justice demands full accountability, dismantling systemic racism, ​and ​reimagining what public safety looks like. It's long past time for real, transformational change.
