University Policies and Responsive Action
In response to an off-campus incident in February 2023, where a Nazi flag was displayed outside of the Temple of the High Country, Appalachian State University's Chief Diversity Officer condemned the act and emphasized ongoing collaboration with the North Carolina Hillel, CJHPS, and Jewish student leaders to support those affected. The CJHPS also released resources to assist those impacted by the incident.
Additionally, in February 2023, the university hosted a seminar titled "Antisemitism and Its Manifestations," featuring speakers from the CJHPS and ADL. The seminar focused on understanding and addressing contemporary antisemitism.
