What’s Happening on Campus?
In October 2023, a "teach-in" event at Colorado College featured posters with slogans like “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” The same month, ten student groups released a statement accusing Israel of apartheid and accusing “Zionist institutions” of surveilling anti-Israel activists and targeting minority students. In January 2024, a rally against a Hillel-hosted workshop featuring speakers from ADL drew about 50 protestors outside the event.
By May 2024, the campus witnessed a walkout and teach-in advocating for divestment from Israel, involving both students and faculty. Concurrently, the Colorado College Liberation Zone encampment was established to demand amnesty for involvement in protest activities, divestment from Israel, and an end to the Summer Blocks study abroad option in Israel.
