Jewish life at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is supported by the Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach and a Chabad. The university also has a Center for Holocaust and Human Rights.

What’s Happening on Campus?

In January 2023, messages supporting Kanye West's antisemitic remarks were written on a banner on campus by a group not affiliated with the University. The university swiftly condemned the posts.

In October 2023, at an anti-Israel protest at Florida Atlantic University, a protester stated, "Palestinians, Hamas? They're fighting a resistance towards occupation and genocide and ethnic cleansing.”

University Policies and Responsive Action

In an effort to tackle antisemitism, FAU appointed a new Officer for the Prevention of Antisemitism in August 2024. This role focuses on supporting Jewish students and promoting inclusivity through educational programs and collaboration with student groups.

In August 2024, the Chancellor of the State University System of Florida called for a review of all state university courses for anti-Israel or antisemitic bias, including at Florida Atlantic University.
