From Brown vs. Board of Education to Selma to Ferguson, ADL has historically been on the front lines when it comes to fighting for racial equality and justice. This challenge is part of our own story. ADL’s founding coincided with vicious anti-Semitic incidents which dramatized the hate and demonization of the “other” in the first half of the 20th century.
Today we focus on race and diversity in our education programs—and not in a typical way. ADL curricula on the high school level deal with racial disparities in the justice system and racial profiling.
