ADL Acknowledgment and Release

What the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) May Do

The Anti-Defamation League's role is limited. ADL will evaluate your complaint and determine whether further action by the ADL is appropriate. The ADL may take the following action with respect to your complaint:

  1. Act in an investigatory capacity to gather facts and data surrounding the complaint.
  2. Contact the person or entity against whom the complaint was made.
  3. Provide informational resources regarding anti-Semitism, bigotry, democratic ideals, and civil rights.

What ADL Does Not Do

ADL cannot take the following action with respect to your complaint:

  1. ADL will not assert claims for monetary damages or restitution on your behalf.
  2. ADL will not act as your legal representative or provide you with legal advice.
  3. ADL makes no promises or guarantees as to the outcome of your complaint.

Any expression regarding the strength of your claim and the Anti-Defamation League's evaluation are matters of opinion only.

The Anti-Defamation League strongly recommends you contact an attorney familiar with civil rights matters to represent you in any discrimination complaint.

Waiver

I have read and acknowledge the foregoing and I further acknowledge that the activities of the Anti-Defamation League, and its past and present members, officers, directors, agents, employees, representatives, and related entities thereof, are advisory only, and that the ADL is not acting as my legal counsel in this matter.  Any information you share with ADL may be shared with a prospective lawyer and is not privileged by any attorney/client relationship.

It is my further understanding that, regardless of the activities of the ADL, a Statute of Limitations may exist requiring that I initiate legal action by a specified date to preserve my legal rights, and that this Acknowledgment, the Discrimination Complaint Form, and any actions by the ADL do not constitute such legal action. I understand that it is solely my responsibility to ensure that legal action is initiated prior to the expiration of any applicable Statutes of Limitations.

I further agree that under no circumstances shall the ADL, be responsible for any liability, loss, or damage which I may suffer, caused by the ADL, or any third party, resulting from the ADL's involvement in my claim. By my signature below, I and my successors, transferees, assigns and related entities, hereby release the ADL from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, actions, rights, liabilities, contract obligations, damages, attorney's fees, costs, torts, suits, debts, sums of money, accountings, reckonings, bills, covenants, controversies, agreements, promises, at law or in equity or otherwise, whether direct or indirect, known or unknown, which I and my successors, transferees, assigns and related entities now own or hold, or have at any time heretofore owned or held, now or hereafter acquired, which are related in any way, directly or indirectly, to the ADL's acts and/or omissions arising out of or relating to the complaint.
