Insurrectionists and far-right extremists encouraged by President Trump violently forced entry into the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday in an attempt to stop the certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. In an unprecedented move, Twitter and Facebook suspended the accounts of Mr. Trump as his supporters stormed the Capitol, fearing his posts could incite further violence. A newly sworn-in Republican congresswoman declared that “Hitler was right on one thing” while speaking at a pro-Trump rally on Tuesday, drawing widespread condemnation.

2) Twitter and Facebook Lock Trump’s Accounts After Violence on Capitol Hill
“Twitter said Mr. Trump’s account would remain locked for 12 hours and the ban could be extended if several of his tweets that rejected the election results and appeared to incite violence were not deleted.
