On March 2, Olympia police arrested racist skinhead Frank Glen Cole, Jr., 32, for an alleged armed robbery that occurred on December 29, 2016. He also faces weapon charges. Cole, who has an extensive and felonious criminal history, is a member of the Hakenkreuz Skinheads (HSH), and the latest of several persons associated with the gang to be arrested in recent months.
Another HSH associate, Daniel Brett Rowe, 32, of Richland, was arrested in August 2016 for allegedly stabbing an interracial couple outside an Olympia bar after seeing the two kiss. He is facing two counts of second degree assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of malicious harassment. Rowe, who has a previous robbery conviction, has a number of white supremacist tattoos, including a swastika on his chest and “88” on his stomach, a white supremacist numerical code for “Heil Hitler.”
In October 2016, police also charged Rowe with bribing a witness after Rowe and two of his associates, Robert J. Fechtner and his girlfriend, Cassie L. Hickam, allegedly offered to pay one of Rowe’s stabbing victims $2,000 if he agreed not to testify against Rowe.
Fechtner, who is a Hakenkreuz Skinhead as well, has a 1999 conviction for first-degree murder. Hickman associates with members of the Pacific Northwest Wolfpack, a loosely associated alliance of racist skinheads that includes the HSH.
The HSH started as a white supremacist prison gang in 2000, but later spread to the streets. The crew’s name is a reference to a German word for hooked-cross or swastika.
Like many white supremacist prison gangs, the HSH have a constitution. The Hakenkreuz constitution states that “Our Nation is the true Nation. We must do our part to stop ZOG [Zionist Occupied Government] from gaining more footholds against white men and women. The fourteen words are our battle cry, we represent the future for white children.” Fourteen words is a reference to a popular white supremacist slogan.
Members use the acronym HSH on clothing and as tattoos. They may also have a shield tattoo or wear a patch that consists of the HSH acronym above a swastika with a shield knot in the center. HSH colors are that of Nazi Germany’s flag: red, white, and black. They claim that the colors have meaning: red for their blood, white for the color of their skin, black for the soil they “must reclaim.”
HSH members associate with a number of other loosely affiliated racist skinhead crews in and around the Pacific Northwest, including the Pacific Northwest Wolfpack Alliance, Blood and Honour America, Aryan Skins Kindred, and the Northwest Hammerskins.
