New partnership to provide resources to interfaith families and couples.
New York, NY, February 27, 2024 …18Doors and ADL (the Anti-Defamation League) today announced a new partnership to combine efforts to combat antisemitism and provide resources for those in interfaith relationships.
Through the partnership, ADL and 18Doors will provide resources to empower interfaith couples and families to have discussions about antisemitism. ADL and 18Doors will also develop resources for grandparents to guide conversations around antisemitism and the Holocaust in interfaith families.
“As more Jewish Americans are encountering antisemitism, there’s an increasing need for resources – including for those in interfaith families who may be having challenging conversations with family members from different backgrounds,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL CEO. “Our partnership with 18Doors will bring inclusive tools and guidance to more people in interfaith relationships, addressing the challenge of antisemitism family by family.”
This partnership comes as antisemitic incidents are skyrocketing. In January, ADL released preliminary data finding a total of 3,291 incidents between Oct. 7 and Jan. 7, a 361-
percent increase over the year prior, putting 2023 on track to be the worst year since ADL started tracking this data in the late 1970s.
“Jews in interfaith relationships often struggle to explain how antisemitism has impacted them personally, which can become even more difficult in times like these,” said Jodi Bromberg, 18Doors CEO. “We look forward to working with ADL to help interfaith couples as they navigate this challenging issue together.”
