ADL and NBCUniversal Partner Against Intolerance With "The More You Know" Spots

New York, NY, May 4, 2011 ... "The phrase is love thy neighbor, not love thy neighbor only if they're just like you."

That is one ADL message of inclusion being brought to viewers by stars from hit shows on NBC and Bravo as part of NBCUniversal's award-winning "The More You Know" public service campaign. In a series of segments developed in consultation with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), the campaign reminds people of the power of words and encourages viewers to embrace our differences.

"We are delighted to once again partner with NBCUniversal on 'The More You Know,' a campaign that has for more than 20 years strived to make a positive difference in communities," said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. "These segments drive home a universally important message: we each have the power to stand up and say 'no' to hatred, 'no' to prejudice. When it comes to diversity, inclusion and mutual respect, the answer must always be 'yes.' "

Approximately 15 seconds in length, the campaign's pro-diversity spots feature television stars and personalities such as Ann Curry of NBC News, Laura Innes of The Event, Yvette Nicole Brown of Community, Jillian Michael's of The Biggest Loser and Andy Cohen of the Bravo Network.

Each of the spots, which appear on prime-time television on NBCUniversal and its affiliates, as well as online, encourage people to take action against prejudice and discrimination, and to promote diversity and inclusion in their daily lives. The segments point viewers to www.themoreyouknow.com, where they will find a link to ADL's resources.
