New York, NY, February 5, 2025 … ADL (the Anti-Defamation League) today announced the launch of its Ratings and Assessments Institute (RAI), designed to identify and address antisemitism and the pervasive challenges Jewish individuals face across diverse sectors, through rigorous research and collaboration.
“Antisemitism is surging in ways we haven’t seen in generations, yet too many institutions remain complacent—or complicit,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL CEO. “Jewish communities are confronting bias in classrooms, boardrooms, and beyond, often with little recourse. This institute represents a bold step forward in our mission to combat antisemitism, wherever it exists. By tracking antisemitism with hard data, we aim to highlight these issues, hold institutions accountable, and empower change.”
In 2025, RAI will spearhead six critical projects:
- 2025 Campus Antisemitism Report Card – An update to ADL’s in-depth assessment of antisemitism on college and university campuses, providing actionable insights for administrators, policymakers, and student communities.
- AI & LLMs in Partnership with the ADL Center for Technology and Society (CTS) – An analysis of anti-Jewish bias within large language models (LLMs) and artificial intelligence systems, exploring their potential role in perpetuating antisemitic attitudes.
- State Antisemitism Index – A nationwide evaluation of how state governments are addressing antisemitism through policy, law enforcement responses and institutional practices.
- Bias and Accountability Database (BAD) – A centralized tracker of antisemitic incidents, organizational responses and resolutions at cultural institutions such as museums, orchestras, and theaters.
- Corporate Scorecards in Partnership with JLens – A tool assessing corporate efforts to combat antisemitism across the 500 largest public companies in the United States and encourage accountability to drive meaningful change within that sector.
- Professional and Academic Associations Initiative – A study examining the presence and impact of antisemitism within professional and academic organizations, offering recommendations for fostering inclusivity.
“The newly launched institute embodies ADL’s commitment to aggressively track and combat antisemitism and hate,” said Danny Barefoot, Senior Director of the ADL Ratings and Assessments Institute. “By leveraging rigorous research, expert panels and a high-level governance board, RAI will expose bias, hold institutions accountable and ensure Jewish communities are protected.”
