Houston, TX, December 19, 2017 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today released a report on a new white supremacist group very active in Texas whose members maintain their ancestors conquered America and bequeathed it only to them.
Patriot Front espouses racism, anti-Semitism and other types of hatred under the guise of preserving the “ethnic and cultural origins” of their European ancestors.
Their activity includes hanging banners on college campuses and from overpasses, distributing fliers, posters and stickers, and participating in marches and demonstrations. The group also is very active online and uses social media to promote its ideology.
The group is led by 19-year-old Thomas Ryan Rousseau of Dallas, Texas. Rousseau broke off from another white supremacist group, Vanguard America, after the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia in August of this year.
As of December 13, 2017, ADL counted 37 incidents in which Patriot Front fliers, banners, or stickers were posted on campuses. Most of the incidents occurred in Texas. ADL has logged Patriot Front activity, in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, and San Marcos.
“Patriot Front has been ramping up activity in our state, and the report is designed to help law enforcement and others understand more about the group. We are monitoring the group very closely,” said Dayan Gross, ADL’s Southwest Regional Director. “ADL’s Southwest Region staff is working with law enforcement, campus administrators and other community leaders to recognize Patriot Front incidents and respond to them effectively.”
