New York, NY, March 15, 2018 … The following is a statement from Anti-Defamation League (ADL) CEO Jonathan Greenblatt in response to a series of videos on Facebook where two mothers take their children to a mosque near Tempe, Ariz., to threaten Muslims in the community.

Watching these videos is extremely disturbing and ugly on so many levels. It’s bad enough that these individuals felt emboldened to go to this mosque and threaten the security of those peacefully practicing their religion. But to involve young children and to indoctrinate them with their hate is abhorrent.

Sadly, the behavior we see in the videos is consistent with the growth in hate crimes, rise in attacks on Muslims, and the surge in anti-Muslim bigotry and anti-Semitism we have seen the last couple of years.

ADL stands with our brothers and sisters in the Muslim community and condemns this intolerable behavior. We have contacted Facebook and asked the company to make sure the videos are taken down. The content clearly violates Facebook guidelines.

We call on law enforcement to fully investigate their conduct and take any appropriate action.
