Exiled Iranian Opposition Leader Reza Pahlavi to Address ADL Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C.

First major address to a prominent American Jewish organization since his return from Israel

New York, NY, April 26, 2023 …  Exiled opposition leader Reza Pahlavi, Crown Prince of Iran, will appear Sunday at the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) National Leadership Summit, to discuss his recent trip to Israel and offer thoughts on the Iranian people’s ongoing movement for secular democracy.

Pahlavi, the oldest son of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who left Iran in the 1979 revolution, will deliver keynote remarks to more than 500 ADL leaders from across the country during a dinner celebrating the 75th anniversary of Israel’s founding on Sunday, April 30 in Washington, D.C.

“We are deeply honored to have Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi joining us to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the State of Israel. We look forward to hearing his vision for the future of Iran and the prospect of closer ties between the Iranian people and the state of Israel,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL CEO. “We appreciate his perspectives on what ordinary Iranians feel about the Jewish state and people, as well as his approach on the current Iranian regime and his advocacy for a secular, democratic future for Iran.”

Pahlavi recently completed a trip to the State of Israel, where he met with top Israeli leaders including President Herzog, attended a Holocaust Memorial Day ceremony at Yad Vashem, and visited the Western Wall, and made a condolence call to the Dee family, following the terrorist murder of three of their family members. He spoke of renewing ties between Iran and Israel and “working toward the peaceful and prosperous future that the people of our region deserve.”
