(New York, NY, March 3, 2025) ADL (the Anti-Defamation League) today presented Daniel Lubetzky, founder of the Builders Movement and KIND and a relentless advocate for building human bridges, with the Courage Against Hate Award at its annual Never Is Now Summit. Lubetzky is being recognized for his unwavering commitment to combating hate, building bridges across communities, and fostering a more just and pluralistic society.
As a visionary business leader, philanthropist and son of a Holocaust survivor, Lubetzky has dedicated his career to helping groups in conflict solve problems together. Through his groundbreaking initiatives, including the OneVoice Movement and the Builders Movement, he has worked to build a future where flexible thinkers and problem-solvers - ‘Builders’- counteract the destructive effects of extreme views. His leadership and bold vision align with ADL’s work to fight antisemitism and all forms of hate.
“Daniel Lubetzky is a trailblazer who has turned his passion for unity into meaningful action,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL CEO and National Director. “At a time when antisemitism and division threaten our communities, his leadership serves as a beacon of hope. In the aftermath of October 7th, Daniel jumped into action, using his platform and resources to combat the surge in antisemitism, support impacted communities, and promote solidarity in the face of hate. We are proud to recognize his extraordinary contributions with the Courage Against Hate Award.”
Lubetzky was a member of ADL’s Board of Directors and has been widely recognized for his work in business, philanthropy, and social entrepreneurship. His honors include The King Center’s Beloved Community Award, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, Columbia Business School’s Botwinick Prize in Business Ethics, and The Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award for Civility and Compassion. Daniel is a New York Times bestselling author and a Shark on ABC’s Shark Tank.
“I’m deeply honored to receive ADL’s Courage Against Hate Award, and to be in the company of the visionary leaders who have received this award before me,” said Daniel Lubetzky, Founder of the Builders Movement and KIND. “We are living in a time when an ‘us vs. them’ mentality is dividing us in dangerous ways. To counteract forces of violent absolutism and destruction, we must take action to be Builders who unite to solve problems for our communities and who commit to bring light to the world.”
ADL established the Courage Against Hate Award to recognize courageous and visionary leaders from the private sector who are dedicated to fighting hate for good, boldly use their personal and professional brands to that end and inspire others to actively work to make the world a better place.
In addition to Julie Sweet and Dr. Albert Bourla, past recipients include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Chobani CEO and Founder Hamdi Ulukaya, Merck & Co. Executive Chairman Kenneth C. Frazier, and L’Oreal Chairman Jean-Paul Agon.
ADL is the leading anti-hate organization in the world.
