New York, NY, August 5, 2021 … ADL (the Anti-Defamation League) today announced the election of Ben Sax as Chair-Elect of ADL’s Board of Directors. Currently vice chair of the board, Ben has served in various regional and national leadership positions, including National Chair of Development and New York Regional Board Chair. Ben also helped revamp ADL’s governance structure in 2017 to bolster leadership accountability and transparency to sustain the organization’s long-term future. He formally assumes the three-year position in January 2022.
“We are extremely fortunate to have a leader of Ben’s vision and intellect stepping into our top volunteer leadership role,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL CEO. “Ben is deeply committed to the mission and work of ADL, and his leadership has helped to bolster our efforts fighting hate both in public and behind the scenes.”
A native of Larchmont and Sag Harbor, New York, Sax will serve a three-year term as chair of the board, replacing outgoing chair Esta Epstein.
“I am humbled to have been selected as board Chair-Elect at this pivotal moment and am deeply concerned about the upsurge both in domestic extremism and the scourge of antisemitism. This blatant rise in hate has been further exacerbated by the circumstances surrounding the COVID crisis,” Sax said. “I look forward to working with Jonathan and the board to support this organization’s vital work in fighting hate for good.”
